Lambayeque Region Farmers checked and learned about different methods of fertilization and pest control, organic products, which can be applied in the cultivation of paprika pepper, with the aim of good yields, avoiding the final product is contaminated with pesticides. Training took place on Thursday March 24 in the experimental fields of the Experimental Station of INIA Vista Florida. In the first plot visited farmers exposure was given by Mr. Alfonso Vásquez Yerena, INIA investigator who explained the organic fertilization in paprika pepper. It mentioned that fertilization is performed using island guano, compost, sulpomag, foliar fertilizers, molasses and fungi Trichoderma viride. The specialist recommended
make the application of this mixture, first at 15 days after transplantation, then, within 30 days after the first fertilization and finally, 30 days after the second fertilization.
other hand, Mr. Pedro Injante Silva, INIA researchers unveiled the procedure used for pest control specifically on aphids and leaf miner. "We have used plant extracts, bacteria and fungi such as Bacillus thuringiensis and Beauveria bassiana, for up to three times, all help to control pests and maintain beneficial insects," noted the expert.
